Creating Convenient and More Reliable Air Travel

April 27, 2007

The latest trend in corporate aircraft is acquiring and leasing private jets to assist the convenience of businesses that demand travel. Bank of America and a few jet companies are partnering together to arrange jet usage with companies of interest. This growing trend is eliminating the hassle of everyday business travel with commercial airlines. The ease of using a private jet compared to going through security, arranging flight schedules, losing luggage, and dealing with time delays is incomparable.

Seminars are being held in select cities where advocates can state their persuasive cases to the businesses that private jet service would appeal to most. The majority of the current client base at Mercury Air are retail chains. Although few companies actually own their own aircraft, most will lease or have fractional ownership to ensure that they will be able to use the plane with very short notice. It is a simple matter of convenience that will help the businesses save a lot of time.

Private planes can land as close to the destination as possible, whereas a commercial plane may land hundreds of miles from the actual destination of the traveler. Instead of wasting valuable time and money on regular travel, a private jet will allow an executive to reach many destinations in one day with time to spare.

Mike Agee, the general manager at Mercury Air Center is looking to expand the client base locally. The fractional ownership is a way to not actually buy the aircraft to be allowed its use. Jet card membership is similar to a large debit account that money will be deducted from by each hour during the usage of a plane. This will grant availability to a plane anytime it is needed. Private corporate planes are essentially selling businesses valuable time at a cost that most find to be a bargain for the exchange.
