Get On A Private Jet- For $187

April 28, 2007

A new start up company, Jump Jet, is betting that there are enough passengers out there fed up with the current state of air travel, to make feasible their business concept of a membership service for private jets.

Under the terms of their proposed services, customers will give a one time fee of five hundred dollars, and subscribe to a monthly fee of fifteen hundred dollars; and for this price customers will have access to two private flights a month; to the destination of their choice, with up to three free guests per trip. Which if you do the math, means that private jet service can now be had for as little as $187 per person, per flight.

The benefits of private jet service are primarily convenience based. Jump Jet customers will face minimal security screening, quick check-in times and the flexibility to schedule a flight at a convenient time. Jump Jet members will be able to choose from a list of 5000 destinations nation wide.

Now, membership with Jump Jet won’t allow you to fly off for dinner to New York on a whim. Customers will have to book their plane 14 or more days in advance, and once a route is reserved, Jump Jet will try to add additional members onto the existing fight.

Aviation analysts express doubt that a private airline service is feasible or profitable at the current time; but they expect these service operators to ramp up pressure on larger airlines currently offering sub par service.

Will Ashcroft, President and Founder of Jump Jet disagrees, "I think people are hungry for this; price has always been the issue."

Jump Jet aims to keep costs down—and pass these savings on to the customer—by acting as broker service rather than an air carrier. Jump Jet has signed contracts with different smaller air carriers and has the flexibility to match the needs of their customers, without buying a plane of its own. These savings on initial infrastructure costs are what Ashcroft expects to be the key factor in getting his fledgling start-up off the ground.

Ashcroft exudes confidence, explaining that once customers get accustomed to the convenience and service he offers, then they’ll be hooked.

At only $187 per flight, private aviation has just entered the mainstream!
