Cessna Takes Europe By Storm

April 30, 2007

The Cessna Citation Mustang is the first of a new type of small business jets to achieve certification by the FAA. This new plane was on display at the Friedrichshafen general aviation trade show which took place in Germany.

European customers are very interested in the new jet and European customers have already pre-ordered 100 models of the soon to be released European fleet. The company aims to meet European certification standards well ahead of the scheduled release across the Atlantic. Cessna has already received certification for both its UK and European flight simulator training centers.

German customers have already ordered 6 of the new jets and so the company feels that the German aircraft show is a fitting place for the international launch of their prized new business jet.

The Cessna aircraft company sells more planes per year than any other aviation firm. In 2006 Cessna delivered 1239 aircraft to the market, including 307 jet planes. The company reported revenues of 4.2 billion dollars in profits last year, and has, since its inception in 1927, delivered more than 189 000 Cessna airplanes to every country of the world.

Cessna operates under the parent company Textron Inc, an 11 billion dollar multi industry company, that also operates other aviation companies such as Bell Helicopters and Greenlee fluid and power.
