New Vice President At Gulfstream

The Gulfstream aviation company has named Austin Shontz as the new Vice President of Savannah operations. His new duties will include overseeing initial manufacturing and final stage engineering at the company’s business jet headquarters in Savannah Georgia.

Dennis Stuligross, the senior Vice President of the company praised Shontz for improving processes and for introducing new and improved technologies into the aircraft plant. Shontz has worked with the company since 1997 when he joined the company as a director of manufacturing. In 1999 he was promoted to director of the company’s Long Beach Facility. Shontz began his career in aviation in 1986 with McDougall Douglas and was a deputy manager with the company before leaving for Gulfstream.

Shontz has a degree in industrial engineering and a MBA from Pepperdine.
