Business Jets More Popular Than Ever

May 15, 2007

International and domestic demand for business jets has been in a period of strong growth over the last few years. Businesses are starting to accept that these can be viewed as productivity boosting tools, and are justifying the expense of private jet owner ship in record numbers.

New technology has increased the globalization of business, and executives are traveling internationally more than ever before, that coupled with increasingly frustrating commercial air travel has made a private business jet an increasingly viable option. These jets allow busy executives to save their most precious commodity…their time..

Business jets also have the advantage that they are much more flexible than commercial aircraft. A small private plane can fly into many smaller regional airports, allowing business jet owner’s minimal hassles from security and luggage clearance. The aircraft also functions as a mobile office, so work can continue uninterrupted en route.
The price gap between business class commercial travel and private jet travel has also been closing.

It used to be that only millionaires and celebrities traveled by private jet, but lowering prices have democratized private jet travel. With the advent of fractional private jet ownership, and other time share style solutions, the price has been getting more affordable each year.

Business jet aviation is also quite green. The perception seems to be that increasing numbers of private jets will increase the negative global warming effect of air travel; but thanks to new and very efficient business jets, their 6 percent of voyages are only accounting for 1% of aircraft emissions released.
