Cessna Hits 7500 Milestone At Independence Facility

May 24, 2007  marked the 7,500th single engine piston aircraft produced at Cessna’s Independence facility.  Cessna Aircraft Company, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, reports that over the next 14 months it will provide eleven Model 172 Skyhawks to Northwestern Michigan College as an upgrade to its training fleet.

“The 172 remains one of the world’s most popular training aircraft,” explains Rod Holter, general manager of Cessna’s Independence facility as he attests to the Skyhawk’s longevity in the training field.

“We really enjoy the fact that we can celebrate this excellent product and the number of deliveries with Cessna,” said Aaron Cook, director of aviation at Northwestern Michigan College.

The delivery of the 7,500th Skyhawk is a milestone for the Independence facility and is marked with excitement.

The Skyhawk is an excellent training aircraft, allowing the pilot unprecedented situational awareness, thanks to the highly advanced Garmin G1000 avionics package with which it comes standard.

Northwestern Michigan College offers flight instruction for ratings and recurrency for non-students.  For students, the college offers flight instruction as part of its official degree program.
