Elite Executives Ignore Environmental Effects Of Air Travel

June 11, 2007

Although the majority of the population is concerned about global warming and the effects of air travel on the environment, companies are still rushing out to buy private jets for their executives.

In order to avoid long lines and longer security checks, the ultra wealthy are choosing to fly by private jet more often than ever.   In fact, the General Aviation Manufacturers Association expects their deliveries of business jets to almost double in the next decade.

A large part of this new boost in sales for private jets is the rapidly increasing economies in China, Russia and India, which is raising the demand for upper class air travel. Although these private jets are supposed to be used primarily for business trips, a large number of vacation hot spots are among the list of top destinations for these "business trips."
