Cessna Aircraft Company, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company comes to the 47th International Pairs Air Show and showing off its new large cabin business jet concept. This includes a full-scale cabin mockup for their newest large cabin and long-range business jet concept.
Jack Pelton President and CEO of Cessna said, “Business aircraft are [becoming] efficient transportation tools for large and small businesses alike, and this is certainly reflected in the strength of our orders from outside the U.S.â€
With that Cessna had announced plans to design a larger Citation business jet last year at the annual National Business Aviation Association meeting held in the United States. Design work had been carried out to accomplish this, and the full-scale cabin mockup is part of the new jet concept. "We are particularly excited to have our large cabin mockup as the highlight of our exhibitâ€, Pelton commented. The mock up cabin itself was fitted with seating for nine passengers, a large galley and toilet, and flight deck. While specification information such as avionics, engine supplier, and the final interior design have not been clarified, Cessna has made it known that information will become available if they decide to move from concept to actual design.
Cessna Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing Roger Whyte commented on the new business jet concept saying, “We’re very pleased with the preliminary design work. We have received extremely positive reaction to the performance parameters as well the cabin design of the proposed aircraft from our customer base. There are still a number of process gates to go through before we will be in a position to make a final decision on whether to launch the aircraft."
The new jet would give Cessna customers another option over its current large cabin jets the Citation Sovereign or Citation X.
