Doing business in the air is easier now since the conception of the Gulfstream V (GV) business jet aircraft 10 years ago. Produced by General Dynamics’ Gulfstream Aerospace Unit in Savannah, Georgia, the GV now has become the chosen aircraft for many multinational corporations and the government.
With its sleek ultra-long-range build, 6,500-nautical-mile range, high performance, safety and reliability, the GV holds the records for 35-city pair speeds and top performance which still stand today.
In addition to being the first in it’s class, the GV also was also the launch aircraft for the Rolls-Royce BR710 engine, the first to include Full Authority Digital Electronic Control (FADEC) for engine operations, heated cabin windows, a three-zone cabin environmental control system and a vacuum lavatory.
Built durable and strong, the GV has a 6,000 foot pressurized cabin and the first to adopt a MSG-3 maintenance schedule, 20 year structure and 5 year parts and labor warranty. Also, it was the first in its class to install the Gulfstream Enhanced Vision System allowing it to in addition be used in search and rescue missions.
With a fleet of 191 and with more than 650,000 flight hours and 250,000 successful take offs and landings, the GV seems to just keep getting better.
