The Race for Corporate Jets Changes Direction

August 2, 2007

Ocean Sky Aviation recently acquired an old executive jet business based out of Manchester Airport, for the hefty price of £10m. Northern Executive Aviation, once owned by Dutch investor Andre Van Gils of Switzerland, is now the newest branch of Ocean Sky’s repair and VIP facilities.

NEA has had an increasingly impressive record over the last three years, since they have been reporting growth. Just last year the company had sixty employees, and did £9.2m worth of business. This year they hope to reach £11m.

When NEA first began in 1961 it operated as a repair station for executive aircraft, as well as a charter for VIP flights. Ocean Sky intends to rename the old NEA headquarters as the Ocean Sky Jet Centre, and Ocean Sky Engineering.
Kurosh Tehranchian, chief executive of Ocean Sky, said: "We can now use [NEA] as a springboard for expansion into other airports around Europe."
Ocean Sky has its own impressive history, posting £12m in revenues just last year, and expecting to double those numbers this year, not including revenues from their newest acquisition.
Two of the largest and most notable executive charters in Europe have just merged to create a superpower that they intend to take to a whole new level of travel and repair services, allowing people to avoid the hassle and cost of taking regular flights into busy airports.
