Cessna launches redesigned website for better customer experience

October 3, 2008

Cessna Aircraft Company, the world’s largest manufacturer of general aviation planes, has recently redesigned their website. It now has new features that make it more user-friendly. With these new features, customers will have an easier time researching about Cessna aircrafts, career opportunities, as well as other areas they might want to explore.

As posted in the Cessna Newsroom,

“This new site is designed around the customer experience, whether that person is an existing Cessna operator, a prospective buyer, a potential employee, a journalist, or one of Cessna’s many fans,” said Robert Stangarone, vice president of Corporate Communications. “We’ve applied the collective talents of our own Cessna experts and of our partners to produce what we think is the new standard for general aviation Internet sites.”

For instance, unlike outdated Web sites that show a simple circular range map for an aircraft flying from a predetermined city, the Cessna site shows more accurate, interactive range maps that can be moved to any region of the world. The new Cessna site also features a unique aircraft comparison tool that allows a prospective customer to compare various Cessna aircraft by range, speed, field performance, passengers or price.

For those seeking to learn to fly or service for a Citation jet or any of Cessna’s propeller aircraft, a searchable database presents the nearest service or Cessna Pilot Center locations – and all maps are supplied by Google’s map interface.

Prospective employees can still search for career opportunities and apply online through the company Web site. The new site allows a more in-depth investigation into the company, the work ethic of current Cessnans and the company’s culture.

The section devoted to news media has also been enhanced with searchable press releases and an image gallery with high resolution aircraft photos for editorial use. There is a new section on Cessna’s long, storied history and information on company facilities and leadership.

The new site was designed by Sullivan, Higdon & Sink, based in Wichita, and developed by Los Angeles-based Genex.
