Apple Inc. CEO Steve Jobs, who has been on medical leave since January, has curtailed company-funded travel for the past six months. Jobs has not used his corporate jet for Apple business this year, according to a regulatory filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
According to the filing, the company did not reimburse Jobs for the use of his Gulfstream V private jet through the first three months of 2009 and paid the CEO only $4,000 in the last three months of 2008.
With this move Apple avoids political backlash that has hampered several corporate companies.
