Embraer—the Brazilian private jet manufacturer—is setting its sights on the Asia-Pacific executive jet market; because it says that the global recession is easing in the region.
In an effort to market its product, Embraer is taking a midsize Legacy 600 to a one-month demonstration to 12 countries in the Asia-Pacific region. These countries include: Australia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and the Philippines.
The plane maker forecasts an annual 9 percent growth in Asia demand for executive jets in the next decade.
“The business jet market in Asia-Pacific is not a small market and indeed [is] of great importance to Embraer,” comments Jose Eduardo Costas, vice-president for marketing and sales in Asia-Pacific.
Currently, Asia accounts for 6 percent of the Embraer’s corporate orders backlog.
Costas believes that easy financing options will make the executive jet more appealing to the Asian businessman. He says that the private jet is more than just a luxury item. It actually improves a businessman’s productivity, says Costas.
He added: “High-net-worth individuals are using them because they are quicker and far more efficient.”
