IAC says that private jet customers are cutting back

August 18, 2009

International Air Charter (IAC) has reported an increase in customers opting to use commercial airlines for long-haul travel to cut travel expenses.

IAC has an extensive client list that includes royalty and high profile individuals. Though the company says that private jet travel has not lost its value for luxury and comfort, its price range is now too expensive for most of their clients.

“Fewer long-haul journeys are being made by private jet,” commented Elie Abdo, IAC business development director. “During the summer we noticed that both business and leisure travellers would fly on commercial airlines for the long-haul leg of their journey and then utilise private jets for their regional travel needs only.”

Abdo says that people are still travelling via private jet, but they do it in a smarter way. Before, people would spend around $90,000 to fly from Europe to the Middle East, but these days that budget has been reduced by more than half.
