Hawker Beechcraft continues to work on new private jet model

September 2, 2009

Hawker Beechcraft is continuing the development of its Premier II light business jet; however, the company announced that it has delayed its first delivery of the aircraft by more than two years.

The private jet manufacturer recently test-flew the new engines on a modified Premier IA business jet.

Hawker is committed in moving forward with the plans for the new plane, despite the delays in production and delivery.

“We must be prudent of our evaluation of the current and forecasted global economic environment,” says Bill Boisture, company CEO, in a press statement.

Based on the current economic conditions, Hawker has decided to extend the plane’s entry into service to align with the anticipated rebound of the private jet market.

No permanent release has been scheduled, but the company expects the plane to enter into service somewhere between 2012 and 2013.
