TEC Equipment Donates Corporate Jet Flight To Medical Teams International For Haiti Life-Saving Aid
TEC Equipment, Inc. President and CEO Dave Thompson will be piloting the TEC Equipment corporate jet to Port-au-Prince, Haiti to transport a team of seven (7) doctors, nurses and health professionals from Medical Teams International. TEC Equipment offered the use of the jet and employees pledged and raised money to pay for the costs of the round trip flight including 4,000 gallons of jet fuel.
Headquartered in Portland, OR, TEC Equipment is the West Coast’s (AKA: big rig) trucks dealership group. Employees wanted to provide more than cash donations to relief efforts and felt that flying a medical team to Haiti was a needed service. TEC Equipment employees have enrolled in a financial assistance donation program to pay for the use of the jet and fuel.
"We are very eager to assist Medical Teams International in their work to help the people of Haiti," said Thompson. "Everyone at TEC Equipment wanted to go beyond simply donating money to Medical Teams International and their relief efforts. We feel our donation of jet transportation is invaluable to their work. The contribution from our employees has been overwhelming."
The team members on the flight will consist of TEC Equipment CEO Dave Thompson as pilot, doctors Marie Angele Theard, Steve Boyer and Bob Gibson, registered nurses Carol Caudle and Kris Repp, health logistics advisor Andrew Davidson and an additional health specialist, plus one co-pilot.
