Manchester Airport is now offering a new lounge and offering new services, including private jet hire.
Passengers will now be able to arrange their travels in the airport website under the new label, The Travel Extras Store.
“Last year was a massive success for the improvements we unveiled and we’ve seen passengers spending more in the new look terminals,” explained Andrew Harrison, commercial director for Manchester Airport. “We completely rejuvenated old infrastructure and modernised it for the benefit of the consumer here at Manchester and we were delighted with the results. By unveiling the new Travel Extras Store, we’re looking to expand the amount of touch points we have with our customers and I want the new online store to give our users the best products available to them.”
Through Private Fly, customers can hire a private jet.
Private Fly is an internet broker, bringing private jet operators and passengers together.
“This was something that proved very useful during the recent issues with Volcanic Ash and the repatriation of passengers to the UK,” explained Harrison. ““Passengers might think that private jets are out of their price range but for larger parties, it can be a cost effective solution and will bring private travel more accessible to the marketplace for those customers who wish to use it. The service will allow the customer the choice of their chosen jet at a competitive market price. For example, a day return to Cornwall in a private plane to experience the culinary delights of the region can cost about £300 per person.”
