Two French junior government ministers have submitted their resignation after being implicated in a scandal that involved spending public funds on a private jet and cigars.
Representatives of the French President’s office say that Alain Joyandet, secretary of state for cooperation, and Christian Blanc, who is heading the country’s plans for Paris, submitted their resignations.
The press statement said that President Nicolas Sarkozy has already accepted the resignations of Joyandet and Blanc.
Joyandet was criticized for renting a private jet last March to attend an international conference about Haiti aid.
Blanc, on the other hand, came under fire when he charged his office 12,000 euros for cigars.
