Private jet makes successful emergency landing

November 26, 2010

A private jet carrying a family of six made an emergency landing in Outagamie County Regional Airport, Wisconsin after it encountered problems with its landing gear.

Reports said that fire departments around the area quickly responded and waited for the Hawker 800 jet to land.

The plane, which was heading to Eau Claire from Cincinnati, had landing gear problems. Pilots decided to attempt landing in Appleton because there were repair facilities there.

A representative of the airport said that the landing gear refused to activate as the private jet passed the control tower. The pilots were force to try emergency procedures, which eventually activated the gear.

As of press time, the family in the plane was not available for comment.
