Swiss Lufthansa may end private jet operations

December 15, 2010

The Swiss unit of Deutsche Lufthansa is considering ending its private jet operations, because the market is not favorable; and the German carrier’s corporate jet division has also stopped working with the Zurich-based company.

Swiss Private Aviation has started a required consultation procedure involving 61 employees. The company will suggest alternatives and solutions. Company reps say that if no investor is found by the end of January, the unit is more likely to close.

The Swiss company could not meet the demands of Lufthansa corporate jet in Europe, prompting Lufthansa to search for new partners.
