Heading to Orlando, Lee Westwood’s private jet made a U-turn after there was smoke inside the cabin.
“I was sitting there and turned around to everyone else and I said ‘Am I the only one who can smell smoke?” said Westwood. “It’s never good when the pilots put on their masks and goggles. They put the plane in a nose dive, so we came down really quick. We got the fire rescue guard of honour back to the handling agent.”
Westwood went on to play at Orlando. While the private aircraft did not crash, Westwood couldn’t stop his ball from crashing into the water in the 18th hole.
