Airbus, the renowned European plane maker, said that it expects normal private jet sales numbers from the Middle East—a region which contributes more than half of the company’s revenue in this segment.
On the average, Airbus delivers one private jet per month globally and the Middle East accounts for about 50 percent of the segment’s total orders, explained Francois Chazelle, vice president of Airbus executive and private aviation.
“The Middle East has been a traditional market for us and I expect to maintain its share,” explained Chazelle. “The UAE is good market and Saudi Arabia is the biggest market in the region.”
Chazelle also said that there is a growing demand for private aviation in Saudi Arabia, where many royal families reside. He also said that China is an emerging market in Asia.
The company is hoping to get more orders from the upcoming Dubai Airshow, which will take place from November 15-19 ay the Dubai Airport Expo.
“Our Airbus ACJ Family aircraft will bring greater comfort and space to a broader Middle East market through VVIP charters,” commented Dr. Mark Peirottu, chief operating officer of Al Jaber Aviation. This company is the largest Airbus private jet buyer in the Middle East.
He continued: “Whether you want a cost-effective way to fly family or executives, to move a larger delegation than traditional business jets can handle, or just the comfort and peace of mind that you get in your own aircraft, AJA can provide it.”
